Defected Record's 'Most Rated 2009' is upon us...

So it's time for Defected Record's 'Most Rated' album to be created once again. The idea conceived by Defected is to compile the most highly rated House tunes of 2009 through public voting. Check out the website to find out more and rate your favourite track.

'Run In Reverse' out to buy on Beatport today...

Tom Neville sees his first outing on Rising Music with some Nu Disco flavoured House in the form of Run In Reverse.

The Original Mix is a Nu Disco inspired House track that sees Tom fusing classic themes with modern production techniques. Vintage drum machines sounds are juxtaposed next to contemporary side chained pads, while the bass line is set firmly to triplets, as all good bass lines should be.

Chris Lake and Lys' remix moves the track into peak time territory, keeping the original bassline while adding tougher drums, grooving synth stabs and some bit crushing for good measure.

Classic disco with a modern twist, Mr Moroder would be proud.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Chris in taxis, on planes and in airport lounges as he sorted the remix out during his March/April North American Tour. Now it's out and doing so well... the BBC even had it as its record of the week... not bad for two ladies brand new to the scene. Anyhoo... if you like your warm fuzzy basslines in true Chris Lake style, get onto iTunes here and pick up a copy.

***STATEMENT ABOUT TONIGHT'S GIG @ PACHA, MUNICH***

It is with great regret that I've not been able to travel to my show tonight at Pacha in Munich, due to being unwell.  I've been trying to fight this off and get fit for the past 2 days (this started 2 days ago at my gig in Tenerife), but unfortunately it's really hit me today, so I'm writing this from my bed, wrapped up in silly clothes, taking all sorts of off-the-shelf remedies, and so much vitamin c, I'm surprised I don't resemble an orange......   

I wish for everyone to still have a great party, and I hope the powers that be allow me to make it up to you asap with a replacement show.  Yet again, I apologise in advance for letting down Pacha nightclub, and my fans in Germany.  This is the first show I've ever cancelled due to being sick and I hope it's the last.

DJ Mag Top 100, Podcasting and Rising Nights at the Warehouse Project

Hi everyone! 

So once again voting is almost over for this year's DJ Mag Top 100.... 

It's been a busy year for Chris and the Rising Music team; lots of touring, some huge successes with 'Only One' and 'If You Knew' feat the gorgeous Nastala, and just last week we launched the first Rising Music Podcast which made iTunes 'New & Notable' for a whole week! 

On the 9th October we're celebrating our first 'Rising Nights' party as support to Chris, Michael Woods and the legendary Deadmau5 at Manchester's Warehouse Project. I'd say get yourself down, but apparently it's already sold out :) Happy days! Keep your ears to the ground though - we're giving away a few VIP tickets in the next few days!
